Case Study: Nasus Mechanical Handling

Nasus Mechanical Handling Ltd first encountered Prodeus (or Prophet Software as it was then) eight years ago when they were looking for an accounts package for their stand-alone PC. Since then the system has blossomed into an integrated network of a server, 5 PC’s and a document control system. There are still one or two stand alone PC’s but these are specialised for parts ordering direct from the German suppliers via an electronic parts control system that they dial into direct.

The advanced networked system links into their suppliers stores across Europe and allows electronic trading between Nasus, their suppliers and other dealers across the country. This allows a low stock level to be kept which saves money whilst ensuring a service that meets their customers’ needs. The addition of a document control system means that their customers can rely on them to hold the paperwork for their trucks as well as having tight audit control. All of this was designed and implemented by the Prodeus team and is regularly maintained to make sure that the system does the job that is expected of it.

The long standing, family run company sells and maintains fork lift trucks and prides itself on superior customer service, going the extra mile to ensure high customer satisfaction from their loyal customer base. Similarly they expect the same level of service from their suppliers and in their long standing relationship with Prodeus they have rarely been disappointed. The new system has brought many benefits for the company, not least of which is the speed and turnaround of parts and the audit trails. Nasus can now offer their customers a full breakdown on what it costs to run their trucks as all of this information is held on the document control system. It also means that Nasus can be proactive and offer ways of saving money. This allows their customers to concentrate on their business and rely on Nasus to look after their trucks, just as Nasus concentrate on the business of fork lifts and rely on Prodeus to look after their IT.
