Case Study: Midshires Group
Three years ago, Midshires IT systems were important but not business critical, however a transformation of their IT infrastructure and business processes that the Prodeus team were at the heart of have changed all of that. Now the systems run a specialist vending software package that enables the 115 operators working in their customers hot sync from their PDA’s to update stocks, meter readings and other important information from the vending machines straight into the systems at head office in real time.
Prodeus staff not only wrote the bespoke accounts package (now moved to Sage Line 100) but upgraded their servers and PC’s to 3 state of the art servers, 25 networked PC’s and 4 networked printers. They also upgraded the operating system, installed the network and removed any compatibility problems, whilst working in parallel to ensure that the specialist software worked well on Shires’ enhanced IT infrastructure.
The result is a more efficient and economical system that has less downtime than before, partly due to a maintenance contract with Prodeus but also to the high quality of the IT Solutions installed. This saves Midshires both money and resource and ensures that their vending operators are also as effective and efficient as possible, bringing a direct benefit to the business.
“We have a lot of confidence in having Prodeus to hand.” says Mark Purbrick “Their advice is understandable and excellent and their response to issues is second to none. They are reliable and take responsibility for getting the job done in the fastest time but without compromising the quality of the work.”
An example of a recent issue was a system crash due to data corruption. The Prodeus team responded quickly, fixed the underlying problem, restored the systems and then ensured that the whole of Shires’ infrastructure was fully stable again before leaving the premises.
